Particle Physics Masterclass

Maastricht Science Programme organises a particle physics masterclass. After an introduction and a crash-course in physics at the smallest scales, we will try to understand processes that were of great importance in the early universe.

For this, we analyze data from high-energy particle collisions at the LHCb experiment at CERN. We will mainly focus on the mysteries of antimatter, and see if our findings hold when compared against the predictions from the Standard Model of particle physics, or whether we have found evidence of new particles!

Registration

If you want to join this Masterclass, please fill in the registration form. Be quick, only 32 seats available and there is a maximum of five students from one school. In case we reach the maximum capacity, please send us an email if you want to be on the waiting list: msp-info@maastrichtuniversity.nl

Additional info

The masterclass is aimed at VWO-5 and VWO-6 students, enthusiastic about physics and the mysteries of the universe. There is a maximum of 32 available seats, and you will have to bring your own laptop. Instructions on the installation of required software (VirtualBox) will be sent in due time.
